Business continuity is the capability to respond effectively to all kinds of disruptive events and continue operations, even during adverse events. Business continuity management is the management process that creates this capability. To be effective, a structured approach to business continuity management (BCM) is essential.

Prevention is better than cure. For that reason,

C. Steinweg Group strongly believes in risk mitigation to prevent unwanted events from happening, whether it’s a safety, security, or disruptive event. However, some events can never be completely excluded, including disruptive events.

What are you going to do?

To coordinate this effort worldwide, the management of

C. Steinweg Group has tasked the CISO office. The CISO started the BCM journey in Oman, where Steinweg Oman LLC wanted to structure their business continuity management. In 2023,

C. Steinweg Oman LLC became the first Steinweg entity to be officially certified on ISO 22301. Currently, more entities are guided through a BCM program, including Steinweg Online, Steinweg US, Steinweg Delta Marine Terminals, and Steinweg Asia HQ.

To coordinate this effort, the CISO office is looking for a person who wants to be part of this journey and aims to increase the maturity level of

C. Steinweg Group on this topic.

Your responsibilities

Continuously maintain and improve the BCM process and the associated documents, including the BCM policy plan, business continuity plan, and crisis quick reference cards.

Ensure entities organize a crisis exercise at least once a year, carry out risk assessments and business impact analyses, and advise the organization on BCM (ranging from operational to strategic level).

Advise the organization and monitor, measure, and analyze the BCM process and the implemented business continuity measures.

Act as the point of contact for all BCM-related matters, serve as a member of Crisis Management Team(s) in the role of advisor, and fulfill preconditioned tasks.

Seek continuous improvement of BCM, actively cooperate with colleagues, and contribute to increasing awareness and support within

C. Steinweg Group.

Incorporate risk management in other parts of the business, such as information security and finance.

The objective of the management team is to have a business continuity program in place that:

Meets the obligations towards our clients and other interested parties;
Is in line with the globally accepted ISO 22301 standard on business continuity management systems;
Respects all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements (i.e., laws, environmental regulations, customs rules, etc.);
Is integrated into existing day-to-day procedures, frameworks, and management systems (i.e., quality management system, planning & control cycle, risk management framework);
Is pragmatic and maintenance-friendly;
Aligns with the general values, mission, and objectives of

C. Steinweg and complies with other existing policies;
Is monitored and reviewed to ensure the performance and effectiveness of the business continuity program and improve the business continuity capabilities continuously.

What are you bringing?

A relevant completed HBO or WO education;
Affinity with business continuity and risk management;
Good communication skills in English;
Flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility;
Willingness to travel;
Experience with governance, risk & compliance tooling;
Knowledge of ISO 22301 standards;
Able to provide sound advice on BCM-related topics;
Awareness of all current relevant laws and regulations.
