CategoryManager - Rotating Equipment Purpose
As a Category Manager, you are responsible for the development of the category strategy with a view to increasing competitiveness and actively participating in business and product development.
Responsibilities- Act as the main point of contact for suppliers and serve as a recognised Supply Chain expert for the category to internal stakeholders.
- Lead a team of Category Buyers.
- Conduct market analysis in collaboration with category buyers and other discipline stakeholders to finalize the strategy to meet future project requirements.
- Understand and incorporate Product Lines and Operations requirements.
- During the tendering phase, define dedicated project procurement strategy related to the category.
- During the execution and/or operate phase, ensure that the defined strategy is implemented.
- Provide support to Project and Operations teams when the relationship with the supplier is at risk, such as dispute and claims resolution, manufacturing performance, and slot allocation.
- Define and deliver long-term strategy based on TCO, pre-agreements (MoU), Approved Vendor List (AVL) including local content needs, contracting plan, spend analysis, and other requirements from internal stakeholders.
- Define Supplier Qualification Plan and monitor its implementation for the category.
- Provide direct support to the negotiation with vendors for key packages and services, with accurate and updated benchmarks and cost breakdowns.
- Ensure that lessons learned are captured, formalized, shared, and implemented for continuous improvement.
- Identify and report risks and opportunities related to the vendor and market.
- Define the Vendor Relationship Strategy, engage and mobilize the vendor to get the most out of the relationship.
- Support the implementation of novelty or innovation company roadmap by mitigating risks, based on close collaboration with Group Engineering and Group Technology.
- Define category performance objectives based on Global Strategy and translate them into category-specific KPI.
- Measure, monitor, and report KPIs as required.
- Master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and market research.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Market expert for the targeted products.
- Expertise in manufacturing process execution and subcontracting model.
- Strong technical understanding for targeted product and expertise in O&G rules and standard.
