Bunge is seeking a Freight Assistant Controller to join our Controllership team in Rotterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, controlling, and reporting financial results related to our Freight Value chain.
Acting as a critical last line of defense, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting across the freight value chain. You will work closely with Chartering Operations, other Controlling teams, and Middle Office in a complex and fast‑paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accuracy and integrity of monthly freight financial statements, as well as quarterly and year‑end reporting
- Validate financial results for assigned value chain in line with accounting standards and internal policies
- Maintain and enforce strong internal controls across Freight Controlling, Operations, and Commercial Freight activities
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and support timely and accurate closing processes
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors on freight‑related topics
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of reporting processes across global teams
- Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient controlling processes and systems
- Partner closely with Freight Management, Finance Business Partners, and Operations teams
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Approximately 5+ years of experience in controlling, preferably within a multinational organization
- Background in a trading company, commodity business, or similar international environment strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX)
- Understanding of freight or logistics business is a strong advantage
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and manage stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure
- Strong Excel and SAP skills
- Experience with One Stream is a plus
- Knowledge of IMOS or similar freight systems is preferred
- Understanding of voyage or time charter accounting is a strong advantage
- Work in a key finance role within a global trading environment
- Exposure to complex and international freight operations
- Collaborative and high‑performing team environment
- Centrally located office in Rotterdam
