We’re developing technology that can search and retrieve statutes, case law, and commentary with high precision; reason step-by-step applying legal tests and weighing precedents;

and explain every answer transparently so legal professionals can trace conclusions back to the exact sources.

The role

As a Legal & Partnerships Associate
, you’ll be part of the Legal & Partnerships team and work closely with the Head of Legal & Partnerships to support Zeno’s growth in the Dutch market.

This role sits at the intersection of law, technology, and go-to-market. You’ll take ownership of a significant part of the day-to-day legal and commercial execution, working directly with law firms, notary firms and legal departments as they evaluate, adopt, and use Zeno.

It’s not a traditional sales role. Instead, it’s designed for a former lawyer or notary who combines strong legal judgment with commercial intuition, and who enjoys working with clients, products, and partnerships in a fast-moving environment.

Within clear legal and commercial frameworks, you’ll operate independently on client-facing work such as first conversations, onboardings, and relationship management, while escalating more complex or strategic matters when needed.

As Zeno expands into new legal domains and international markets, this role is expected to grow in scope, offering increasing responsibility across legal work, partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

In practice, your responsibilities will include:

  • handling first calls with law firms, notary firms and legal departments, elaborating on Zeno and how we work;

  • giving product demos and onboardings to new partners;

  • commercial contracting;

  • coordinating internal legal work, such as privacy-related documentation or compliance tasks, and managing these processes end-to-end;

  • acting as a key point of contact for partners on legal and commercial questions during onboarding and early usage;

  • working closely with product, legal, and operations to ensure feedback from the market is captured and acted upon.

By taking on these responsibilities, you will free up senior team members to focus on higher-level coordination, strategy, and cross-market expansion.

How this role can grow

This role is designed to scale. As Zeno grows, your responsibilities may expand into areas such as:

  • broader legal work (e.g. compliance topics, EU AI Act);

  • partnerships and commercial expansion beyond the Dutch market;

  • working with in-house legal teams and larger international firms;

  • supporting go-to-market efforts in other regions, such as Benelux or DACH.

Who you are
  • has 2–4 years of experience as a lawyer or notary (or in a closely related legal role);

  • has a strong legal foundation and understanding of how law firms, notary firms and legal departments operate;

  • is commercially minded and comfortable discussing pricing, value, and partnerships;

  • enjoys client interaction and is confident running calls, demos, and negotiations;

  • is comfortable working at the intersection of law, technology, and business;

  • can operate independently, while knowing when to escalate;

  • is fluent in Dutch and English.
