Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of customs professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful customs clearance outcomes for clients.
  • Oversee the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including customs regulations, trade compliance, and safety and security regulations.
  • Manage the team’s workload, allocating tasks and resources effectively to meet client needs and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity while maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs clearance and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all team members are aware of and adhere to Maersk Customs policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration, respect, and open communication.
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification in logistics, customs, or supply chain management is an asset.
  • Established experience in a customs‑related role with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and safety and security regulations.
  • Proven track record of leading high‑performing teams and achieving successful customs clearance outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customs clearance software.
  • Fluency in English;
    Dutch fluency is preferred.
  • Willingness to provide a VOG for pre‑employment screening.
