A well-established Japanese small parts manufacturer with operations across Europe is seeking a Dutch speaking Sales and BD Representative to cover the Benelux region from their Rotterdam office. This hunter style role focuses on new business development and customer acquisition, with some account management responsibilities. The successful candidate will act as the key point of contact for customers, providing technical expertise and driving regional sales growth.
TYPE:
One year contract to become permanent.
WORKING HOURS:
37.75 hours per week.
LOCATION:
Rotterdam, Netherlands (hybrid working available, 1 or 2 days in office). SALARY:
Up to €55K (flexible) plus performance-based bonus and company car.
- New Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Proactively identify, develop, and convert new customers and new business opportunities within industrial automation, manufacturing, and engineering markets
- Drive regional growth through targeted prospecting, lead generation, and market development activities
- Own the full sales cycle for new business, from opportunity identification and qualification to quotation, negotiation, and deal closure
- Account & Relationship Management
- Manage and grow a selected portfolio of existing customers in the Benelux region
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships by providing technical expertise and value-driven solutions
- Ensure customer satisfaction while identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities
- Customer Engagement & Market Presence
- Conduct on-site customer visits, including product demonstrations and technical support
- Represent the company at key Benelux trade fairs (approximately three per year), with hands-on involvement in booth setup and breakdown
- Attend industry events and networking activities as required
- Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering and technical teams to develop tailored customer solutions
- Work with the internal sales team to ensure seamless customer support, particularly during travel
- Prepare regular sales and activity reports
- Essential
- Minimum 5 years of B2B outside sales experience, dealing with OEMs, preferably within industrial components, automation, or related technical sectors
- Technical background required (mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering knowledge)
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and build strong customer relationships – projects expected to take 3 years from prototyping to production
- Demonstrated success in new business development and customer acquisition
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
- Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the territory
- Familiarity with non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)

- Experience with linear motion products or bearings
