Westvoorn is looking for a highly experienced senior dry bulk professional to join us in further developing our chartering and commercial activities.
We are looking for someone who knows the market, brings a strong existing international dry bulk network and can actively help generate business, relationships and fixtures.
The role combines hands-on chartering, business development and senior commercial guidance.

Your role   Generate and develop cargo and tonnage opportunities
Develop relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators and commodity traders
Introduce Westvoorn within your existing industry network
Evaluate cargoes, vessels, positioning and voyage economics
Negotiate freight and chartering opportunities
Convert opportunities into profitable fixtures
Identify recurring cargo flows and longer-term commercial opportunities
Act as a senior commercial sparring partner to management
Who we are looking for  We are looking for someone with significant experience in international dry bulk chartering, preferably within the Handysize, Supramax and Ultramax markets.
A strong and active dry bulk network is essential.
Ideally, you have:
Minimum 10 years of international dry bulk chartering experience, with 15+ years strongly preferred
A proven commercial and fixture track record
An established network of owners, operators, charterers, traders and brokers

Experience with a shipowner, operator, charterer or commodity trading house
Strong commercial judgement and negotiating skills
An entrepreneurial and hands-on mentality
We are looking for someone who can advise, challenge and guide us, while also being commercially active, opening doors and helping turn opportunities into fixtures.
The position is based in Rotterdam and partly hybrid. Regular face-to-face presence in Rotterdam is important.
Westvoorn’s immediate focus is straightforward: strengthen our commercial network, develop recurring cargo and tonnage relationships and increase fixture activity.
We intend to appoint the right candidate during Q4 2026.
