The Design Quality Specialist supports the Baxter Clinical Nutrition Medical Device disposables product platform. This role provides design quality support to the sustaining product development team to ensure compliance of the required Design History File deliverables, resulting in the development of safe and effective medical devices.

Responsibilities
  • As Quality Reviewer, performs document reviews to support design and labeling change controls.
  • Collaborate with teams to provide mentorship for meeting Baxter QMS Requirements and External Quality Standards as appropriate.
  • Conduct complaint trend analysis and analyze data from various sources (Non-Conformances, Field Corrective Actions, and Complaints) to drive decisions.
  • Facilitate small project teams as needed to accomplish team objectives.
  • Support Quality internal and external audits as the need arises.
  • Apply DMAIC tools to investigate non-conformances and participate in CAPA activities, including CAPA ownership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years related engineering/science/quality experience.
  • Preferred:
    Prior experience in product development, design and/or testing within the medical device industry.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% as needed.
  • Solid understanding of FDA Regulations, Design Controls and Change Control requirements.
  • Display a technical understanding of engineering and product development principles and procedures.
  • Possess basic understanding of DMAIC investigation tools.
  • Familiarity with Minitab required.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical work.
  • Ability to organize and present technical information with minimal assistance.
  • Demonstrates solid organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Compensation

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 – $121,000 annually. The range is intended to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.

Individual pay is based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. For questions about pay philosophy and available benefits, speak to the recruiter if you decide to apply and are selected for an interview.
