summary
the administrative assistant of safety & security plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of the school environment. This individual will assist in implementing safety protocols, coordinate safety training, and maintain records related to staff and student safety. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

assist in implementing, monitoring, and improving district-wide school safety and security programs, policies, and protocols across all pk–12 schools.maintain and update safety-related records and documentation, including crisis and safety plans, reunification procedures, emergency contact information, drill records, incident reports, safety audits, and building access logs.monitor compliance with local, state, and federal safety requirements by maintaining required plans, documentation, drill records, and regional office of education reporting.coordinate, schedule, monitor, and support required safety drills in collaboration with building administrators, emergency responders, and district leadership, providing training and feedback as needed.provide administrative and technical support for district safety and security systems, including visitor management, emergency notification, access control, surveillance cameras, threat assessment, and related software platforms.manage user accounts, permissions, troubleshooting, and staff support requests for district safety and security technology systems.monitor visitor access procedures, building security processes, and related records to support safe and secure school operations.develop, maintain, and continuously improve safety-related standard operating procedures (sops) and operational processes using best practices.assist with inventory management, maintenance, and replacement planning for district safety and security equipment.create, update, and distribute safety communications, training materials, newsletters, website content, and other informational resources for staff, students, and the community.provide in-person support and training at school sites for safety systems, emergency procedures, and district safety initiatives.coordinate purchasing activities, including quotes, purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, blanket purchase orders, budget transfers, and vendor communications.assist in monitoring departmental budgets, analyzing expenditures, maintaining financial records, supporting budget forecasting, and managing safety-related projects.track contracts, renewals, timelines, deliverables, invoices, and estimates while serving as a liaison between the district, vendors, and the business office.manage multiple projects and competing priorities by maintaining project management systems, tracking assignments, and adjusting priorities during critical incidents.monitor, triage, and resolve staff support requests through effective communication, troubleshooting, research, and collaboration with district departments.maintain and organize district reunification resources, threat assessment documentation, compliance records, and other safety program materials.deliver supplies, equipment, and materials to district sites in support of safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.work independently and…
