Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the Process Engineering team that supports aseptic filling operations and cross‑functional improvement initiatives. The role provides leadership, prioritization, technical direction, and oversight for the team’s work in aseptic filling, process optimization, deviation investigations, change management, improvement programs, CAPA implementation, and technical input for capital projects that impact filling operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Process Engineering team and assign, coordinate, and oversee support for deviation investigations, change management activities, improvement programs, and CAPA implementation.
- Provide timely technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, and Supply Chain on process, component, and equipment issues affecting manufacturing performance and product quality.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement process optimization opportunities that improve quality, compliance, reliability, yield, and operational efficiency.
- Give technical direction and oversight for the team’s contributions to capital projects that affect filling operations, including requirements, technical assessments, protocol support, validation execution, and operational readiness.
- Manage team priorities, resource allocation, performance expectations, and cross‑functional alignment to ensure engineering commitments are delivered effectively.
- Execute project activities as part of the Process Engineer Team.
- B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or food filling operations in an engineering role; aseptic filling or IV bag experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
- Author user and technical specifications, protocols, and reports.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to present technical and project management overviews to senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to run projects, coordinate contractors, and direct technicians.
- PMP certification a plus.
- Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning, protective clothing, and hearing protection.
- Remove makeup, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and artificial fingernails when in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment and on multiple shifts (including weekends); supplemental hours may be required.
- Handle chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite; respiratory protection may be needed.
- Ability to push, pull, and carry up to 25 lb.
- Work involves walking, observing conditions, and occasional confined space entry; indoor environment with moving equipment and machinery.
Base Salary Range: $ – $ (U.S. – IL – Round Lake – Drug Delivery). Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, certifications, and location.
