Test Engineer

Position Title: USA - Test Engineer

Work Location: Round Lake, IL

Assignment Duration: 6 Months

Work Arrangement: On-site

Shift: 8 AM to 5 PM

Contract Test Engineer responsible for executing interoperability test cases for medical device systems, with a focus on validating data exchange, integration workflows, and conformance to healthcare interoperability standards. This role emphasizes hands‑on test execution, defect identification, and accurate reporting within a regulated environment.

• Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms. Confirm data exchange workflows (e.g., device-to-system, system-to-system) for accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Record test results, capture logs, and document defects with clear reproducibility steps.
• Perform testing aligned with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles. Validate message structure, data mapping, and end‑to‑end transaction workflows. Verify system behavior under normal and exception scenarios (e.g., malformed messages, dropped connections).
• Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability, data integrity, and system integration. Support root cause analysis efforts by providing detailed logs and test evidence. Re‑test fixes and support regression testing cycles.
• Configure and use test tools, simulators, and mock systems to emulate interoperability scenarios. Assist in maintaining test environments and connectivity configurations.
• Maintain accurate and traceable test execution records in ALM/test management systems. Provide daily/weekly status updates on test progress, issues, and risks. Support audit readiness through proper documentation practices.
