Raw Material Planner II

Job Overview

Responsible for raw material planning and purchasing activities supporting production of finished goods for the manufacturing facility. Maintains communication with suppliers, internal customers, and the Purchasing Department to coordinate raw material orders, inventory levels, safety stock, disposition, and cost‑reduction initiatives.

• Directly supports procurement and disposition of raw materials in response to MRP and manufacturing requirements.
• Obtain materials in economic order quantities to improve value and minimize total cost.
• Assist in the annual standard costing process and provide price forecasts to support a positive PPV for the plant year over year.
• Support materials management systems, plant projects, and sustain contract terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Establish and maintain effective communication within Baxter and with suppliers to ensure procurement processes meet requirements.
• Monitor and disposition obsolete parts and supplier returns for rejected products; help resolve supplier quality issues.
• Monitor commodity changes to alert purchasing management and the Division to major price or availability fluctuations that impact cost or business operations.
• Develop knowledge of production planning and serve as Finished Goods Planner backup to schedule FG production when needed.
• Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, SOPs, and cGMP.
• Identify and inform management of excess, slow‑move, and obsolete inventory issues; recommend and drive resolution actions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
• Must not be allergic to Penicillin, Cephalosporin, or related products.
• Experience working in GMP environments with a strong understanding of quality standards, SOPs, and compliance expectations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; proven ability to manage inventory levels, address material shortages, and support cost‑efficient operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across departments in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong overall systems/ERP competency.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and the ability to work with urgency and accuracy in a fast‑paced setting.

Estimated base salary: $80,000 – $110,500 annually. The range reflects anticipated market data and may vary based on location, skills, and experience. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
