summary of position
the school social worker is responsible for providing comprehensive social-emotional and mental health services to support students’ access to and engagement in the educational environment. This role delivers direct and indirect services in accordance with students’ individualized education programs (ieps) and ensures compliance with federal law, illinois statutes, and district procedures. The school social worker collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to conduct assessments, interpret data, and develop and implement individualized supports that address social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental needs.
Additionally, this position connects students and families to appropriate resources and services, and promotes equitable student outcomes through consultation, advocacy, and the application of evidence-based practices that support overall student well-being and success.
minimum knowledge, skills and abilities education and experience
master’s degree or higher in school psychology from an accredited college or universitythree (3) years of experience as a school social worker preferredbilingual spanish preferredfamiliarity with the round lake community preferredcredentials
illinois professional educator license with the required endorsements as provided in the school codeknowledge, skills and abilities
