Are you detail-driven with a strong understanding of affordable housing compliance and a passion for supporting thriving communities?
We’re looking for an experienced and solutions-focused Area Compliance Specialist to join RYSE!
As an Area Compliance Specialist, you’ll support multiple communities across the portfolio by ensuring adherence to affordable housing regulations and documentation standards. You’ll work closely with Community Managers and Operations leadership to maintain compliant operations, support audit readiness, and promote consistent compliance practices across our communities.
This role plays an important part in protecting program eligibility, supporting operational teams, and upholding the standards that define RYSE.
What You’ll Do:
Support affordable housing compliance across assigned communities, including LIHTC, HUD, and other applicable regulatory programs.
Review income certifications and recertifications to ensure documentation accuracy and program eligibility.
Conduct file reviews and compliance audits to ensure communities remain audit-ready.
Provide guidance and support to Community Managers and on-site teams regarding affordable housing requirements and documentation standards.
Monitor income limits, rent limits, and utility allowance updates to ensure regulatory compliance.
Assist with preparation for state agency audits, investor reviews, and regulatory inspections.
Partner with Operations and Accounting teams to ensure accurate compliance reporting.
Promote consistent compliance practices and support operational teams in maintaining regulatory standards.
What You Bring:
High school diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of affordable housing compliance or multifamily property management experience.
Working knowledge of LIHTC regulations preferred.
Experience with HUD or other affordable housing programs is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Proficiency in Real Page, One Site, or similar property management software.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance required.
