- Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 YEAR
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Design-Build experience within institutional construction, and is flexible with travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Estimating
- Lead estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through final pricing across multiple project delivery methods
- Develop detailed budgets at various stages (conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP)
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to produce accurate cost estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and value engineering recommendations
- Continuously update estimates based on design changes, scope revisions, and market conditions
- Maintain and leverage historical cost data to support accurate forecasting
- Assist with bid leveling, scope review, and subcontractor negotiations
- Identify, qualify, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage bid solicitation processes and ensure competitive, complete coverage
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project scope and risk considerations
- Promote inclusive bidding practices and engagement with diverse trade partners
- 5-10+ years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or related roles
- Strong background in commercial, institutional, or education-related construction projects preferred
- Experience with conceptual estimating and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in estimating and construction software (Sage/Timberline, eTakeoff, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and cost drivers
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
