Alpha School is seeking reading specialists to deploy an AI-powered literacy program that reshapes early reading instruction. You will lead focused, high-impact workshops rather than conventional hour-long sessions. Your role involves diagnosing individual student needs, developing original evidence-based lessons without reliance on published curricula, and contributing to the creation of adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners. What You Will Be Doing- Leading adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized, engaging sessions that resonate with students and foster a lasting enthusiasm for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and identify meaningful trends
- Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI-based literacy platforms
- Following pre-scripted curricula or standardized scope-and-sequence programs
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate a passion for reading in early learners
Basic Requirements- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing small-group reading interventions to students in early elementary grades
- Competent in assessing reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independently of published curricula
- Comfortable using AI and adaptive learning platforms and adjusting instruction based on student interaction data
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
