OverviewTemporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 semesters.
Responsibilities- Teach one to four courses per semester, including face‑to‑face, online, or remote delivery modes.
- Fulfill teaching responsibilities on the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses or online as required.
- Participate in university and departmental evaluation processes to be considered for annual reappointment.
- Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field.
- Previous teaching experience.
