Position DescriptionThe College of Liberal Arts at Texas State University seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non‑tenured faculty to teach in Philosophy or Religious Studies. Temporary/non‑tenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
- A Master of Arts (MA) or its equivalent in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related field, with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in the relevant discipline required by the time of appointment.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
- Ph.D. in the specific area of instruction.
- Previous teaching experience.
