IMPORTANT NOTE:

This is an in‑person position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school experience—one where students don’t passively attend lectures or commit information to memory. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and advance. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real‑world competencies that many adults never develop. Your responsibility is to ensure they follow through, and that they do so at a high level.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication ability, and practical skills necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not hired to deliver theory. You are hired to coach execution. You will establish rigorous standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to create work that holds up in professional settings.

As the program scales, your impact expands; the workshops you design become embedded in the school’s operational structure, and the students you mentor become evidence of what this approach can achieve.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academic settings—whether building a product, expanding an audience, contributing to a startup, or delivering results in a high‑velocity environment—and who now wish to channel that expertise into developing emerging talent. • Create and facilitate applied workshops (40% of your time) covering areas including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal branding, and other practical domains; leveraging your own professional background
• Provide 1:1 coaching (60% of your time) as students execute real projects across specific areas—businesses, marketing initiatives, coding products—using targeted questions to identify obstacles and drive tangible progress
• Maintain rigorous expectations around confidence, communication, and practical capability; stepping in when performance declines and establishing clear commitments in every session
• Instruct students on leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) for content generation, refinement, and efficiency
• Maintain transparent communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and actionable next steps

• Conducting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
• Evaluating large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical concepts
• Accommodating disengaged students or reducing expectations to preserve comfort
• Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution

Generate measurable improvement in students’ confidence, communication, and practical capability by guiding them to execute consistently at an elevated standard.

• Documented history of significant personal accomplishment in at least one professional domain: launching a company, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent
• Confirmed ability to guide teenagers through resistance or avoidance behaviors
• 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
• Direct, straightforward communication approach: confident facilitating group presentations and providing candid feedback to both teenagers and parents
• Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
• Available to work on‑site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
• Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
