Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Montessori Lead Teacher, Alpha - $150,000/year USD
  • On-site position in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance provided.
  • Annual compensation $150,000, paid weekly.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage from day one.

What if intentional play could drive quantifiable progress in early development? Alpha’s approach to education breaks from conventional models. The PreK program integrates play‑driven curriculum with live developmental tracking—no scripted lessons, no procedural checklists. You will create responsive learning experiences across all developmental domains, guide a team of educators to implement them with skill and enthusiasm, and monitor concrete milestone achievement for each child in your cohort.

This position blends leadership with direct practice. Approximately one‑third of your time will be classroom‑based—demonstrating facilitation methods, observing instruction, and conducting calibration sessions. The remainder involves curriculum development, coaching educators with clear performance targets, and providing families with data‑informed communication. The results of your work will be visible: four‑year‑olds achieving developmental markers ahead of schedule, educators advancing their effectiveness consistently, and families becoming champions of the program.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Conduct individual and small‑group coaching for PreK educators, demonstrating methods and recognizing concrete progress.
  • Create and lead play‑based learning experiences that integrate social‑emotional learning, literacy, math concepts, and physical development, exemplifying top‑tier practice for your team.
  • Assess and align educator documentation weekly for consistency with assessment criteria and clear action steps, facilitating calibration meetings to maintain transparency on milestone tracking.
  • Develop family communications and facilitate team alignment meetings that synchronize efforts and reinforce collective commitment to campus‑wide PreK outcomes.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Executing prescribed lesson plans or procedure‑focused routines— you will build flexible, play‑centered themes informed by live developmental data.
  • Delivering a standardized curriculum determined by others—you control the quarterly and weekly instructional planning.
  • Operating independently without structured feedback—coaching dialogues and calibration reviews are embedded into your weekly schedule.
  • Overseeing K‑12 learners using digital platforms—this position focuses entirely on early childhood education through direct, in‑person engagement.
