Lecturer – Spanish (Non‑tenure line faculty pool) Position Description
Department of World Languages and Literatures, Texas State University invites applications for a Lecturer position focused on writing, composition, technical writing, language, and culture. Lecturers are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester, with appointments based on student demand each semester. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations, continuity of funding, and departmental need. The successful candidate will teach at the San Marcos campus and may also teach at the Round Rock campus or online, as needed.
All positions are subject to availability of funds.
- Ph.D. or ABD in Spanish, Spanish linguistics, applied linguistics, or a comparable field in hand by August 1, 2026
- Native or near‑native command of Spanish and English
- Demonstrated teaching experience in Spanish at the university level
- Strong commitment to teaching and collegial service
- Experience teaching Spanish language, writing, composition, technical writing, and culture
Must be submitted by March 14, 2025.
