Dance Instructor

Overview

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Dance Instructor for our recreational dance program at the CHASCO Family YMCA. The Dance Instructor will teach dance to children 2 to 14 years old. Applicants should have knowledge of a variety of dance styles; ballet, tap, jazz, POM and hip hop are classes offered at our facility.

A minimum of 12 months of experience and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children are required.

• Monday 3:50-7:00pm
• Wednesday 2:50-7:00pm
• Thursday 10:30-11:45am
• Friday 3:50-7:00pm
• Saturday 9:45am-12:45pm

• Coach CHASCO YMCA dance classes
• Oversee daily class routines, attendance and schedules
• Coordinate and implement Winter and Spring dance recitals with the Dance Specialist
• Provide coaching and leadership to all participants
• Establish and maintain ongoing communication with families
• Administer skills progression testing and monitoring

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum of 12 months experience teaching young children ballet, tap, jazz and/or hip hop
• Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, and possess a cooperative attitude
• Have a general knowledge of fitness and wellness
• Uphold the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith
• Ability to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, sex-offender check, and criminal history check

Pay Rate: $14.00 to $19.00/hour
