Position: Early Childhood Educator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

About the Role

Children may not recall every lesson, but they never forget the adult who truly believed in them. That is what this position is about.

At Alpha, students finish their academic work in only two hours per day through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their energy to what truly transforms lives: fostering confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges.

Instead of standing at the front of a room delivering traditional lessons, you coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You will oversee a single K‑3 cohort band—either Kindergarten‑1st grade or 2nd‑3rd grade. Approximately half of each day is dedicated to facilitating dynamic, one‑hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining time is spent coaching children individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every student progresses toward challenging weekly objectives.

Each moment counts. Students should exit your workshops with greater capability and finish your coaching sessions with expanded belief in their own potential.

This position is not suited for someone seeking to deliver standard curriculum or oversee a conventional classroom. It is designed for someone who enjoys inspiring young learners, values measurable progress, and believes the right mentor can alter a child's future. If you have motivated children as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, you will discover a fundamentally different educational environment here.

This is a full‑time, on‑site position at an Alpha campus. We conduct nationwide recruiting, so job postings may appear in nearby cities without a campus location. Current opportunities at this compensation level are located in Scottsdale, AZ;
Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK;
Nashville, TN;
Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

If your interest lies in a different Alpha campus, we encourage you to apply and specify your preferred location—we will evaluate you for the relevant opening.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitate dynamic life‑skills workshops that support K‑3 students in developing communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other enduring competencies through hands‑on engagement rather than passive instruction.
  • Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child advances toward challenging weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life‑skill proficiency using Alpha’s Test2

    Pass system, guiding students until they exhibit genuine mastery—not simply attendance.
  • Modify your coaching approach to suit the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger students or emphasizing greater autonomy and responsibility for older learners.
  • Cultivate relationships in which students feel secure enough to push beyond their perceived limitations.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering academic instruction from the front of the room. Students complete academics via adaptive software.
  • Developing curriculum from the ground up. You will refine and customize established playbooks rather than creating lessons independently.
  • Supervising students as they work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
  • Reducing standards when students face difficulty. Progress is achieved by supporting students to meet the objective, not by lowering the objective.
  • Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or conducting routine parent outreach.
