SummaryResponsible for preparing and delivering automotive technology coursework to a diverse student population, fostering student success, and maintaining professional standards in a community college setting.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop, teach, and evaluate automotive technology courses based on approved learning outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback and assessment of student progress.
- Offer mentoring and support services, ensuring non‑discriminatory practices.
- Remain current in the automotive field through professional development.
- Maintain and update course content in Blackboard LMS.
- Participate in college functions, meetings, and uphold standards of civility and collegiality.
- Use Blackboard LMS and other instructional technologies (Cengage/Pearson); demonstrate proficiency with computer applications and online resources.
- Perform tasks assigned by department chair, dean, or vice chancellor.
- Use the college LMS appropriately and meet attendance and grading deadlines.
- Maintain regular office hours and promote student retention.
- Participate in college wide and departmental meetings.
AAS in automotive repair or higher, in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards.
Required ExperienceMinimum five years of automotive repair experience within the last ten years.
Other RequirementsCurrent ASE Automobile Master certification (A1‑A8).
