Job Title
Automotive Adjunct Faculty
OverviewResponsible to prepare and deliver automotive coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties- Prepare and teach courses in automotive technology to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community college students and discipline standards.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services in a non-discriminatory manner.
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by department chair, dean, or vice chancellor.
- Use Blackboard LMS and other online learning management systems.
- Use Cengage and/or Pearson publishing materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, online resources, and classroom technology.
- Proficiency in using Blackboard to develop course content and perform administrative duties.
- Appropriate use of the college's LMS.
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and final course grades.
- Participate in graduation, campus, and departmental functions.
- Maintain regular office hours to support student retention and success.
- Attend and participate in college wide, campus, or departmental activities and meetings.
- Follow the standard of civility and collegiality in all interactions.
- Comply with published college policies and professional teaching standards.
AAS in automotive repair or higher. Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards. No substitution for educational requirements.
Experience RequirementsMinimum five years of automotive repair experience within the last ten years.
Other RequirementsCurrent ASE Automobile Master certification (A1–A8).
