County GEC Senior Project Manager

This role will be dedicated to GEC County Road Bond Programs and primarily consists of leading a team managing professional service providers to deliver transportation infrastructure projects ranging in size and complexity in the Central Texas Area.

The role is responsible for assisting with overseeing and guiding project consultants on designated projects, ensuring they meet contractual obligations, stay within budget, and adhere to the project timeline. Responsibilities include managing the planning and design review process, managing the right of way and utility coordination process, coordinating bids for local projects, and leading regular meetings with consultants and clients to foster effective collaboration.

The role serves as a liaison between the client, local agencies, and other relevant parties, ensuring smooth communication and project progress. It also involves reviewing project plans for regulatory compliance and scrutinizing consultant contracts to safeguard client interests. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of client needs and bond program requirements related to project deliverables. This opportunity entails being responsible for managing assigned project(s) throughout their full lifecycle, including developing the scope and technical sections of proposals and procurement documents, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to successfully accomplish HNTB’s 4‑for‑4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction on every project.

The position proactively manages the budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of the project’s objectives. Provides high‑level technical tasks while managing and reviewing design‑related specifications, calculations, reports and plans. Coordinates with internal and external partners, including cross‑discipline and functional teams, to address and problem‑solve design‑related issues or concerns.
