- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Mid-level, experienced engineering professional/project manager responsible for managing and executing small to big complex projects.
- Develop the scope of work for routine projects.
- Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and other project related documents.
- Analyze data and perform engineering calculations and analysis.
- Coordinate and supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of respective data, development of recommendations.
- Develop plans and schedules and coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Work closely with senior-level project manager to gain project management and engineering experience.
- Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications.
- Prepare work scope, and reports and plans investigations for approval by senior level professionals.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
- Supervise field staff including testing technicians, laboratory staff and other support personnel.
- Interact with client and project team in developing scope of services and communicating project progress.
- Coordinate materials testing activities with subcontractors and company’s field staff.
- Prepare laboratory-testing assignments on projects in accordance with the testing program.
- Analyze field data, laboratory test results, and provide required opinions/recommendations for completion of client reports.
- Prepare draft materials testing and engineering reports for review, and final reports.
- Coordinate materials testing activities with subcontractors and company’s field staff.
- Review and approve pre-bill invoices on Surveying projects as needed; contact and follow up with clients on invoicing and status of payment.
- Ensure claims and disputes are communicated to senior management to prevent litigation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Oversee Field Technician and Field Supervisors.
- Has hire/fire authority.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline, and three years of related experience, or, alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline, and five years of related experience.
- Nuclear Gauge Handling certification required.
- Must have experience with engineering software including Arc Gis and Field Maps.
- Must have experience with Auto-Cad and On screen takeoff.
- Must have experience with performing accurate calculations and data reduction of test results.
- Must have experience with performing specialized field testing activities in an outdoor construction environment, including lifting heavy equipment and walking on uneven terrain in summer temperatures.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- National travel required (up to 20%).
