Onsite, M-F 7:30 AM-4:30 PM + on call expectation Travel Requirements: local travel due to splitting time between our clients Round Rock HQ and north Austin Campus

Reports to:

Regional Facilities Manager Estimated base salary range: $97,400 - $119,200+

What this job involves

As an Engineering Manager at JLL, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering operations for a designated client. You will lead a team of engineers, technicians, and vendors to ensure effective maintenance activities and continuous operation of all building systems, with a strong emphasis on central plant operations and critical infrastructure, including chilled water systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC and controls, electrical distribution, emergency power systems, UPS/PDU systems, fire/life safety, plumbing, and other critical building systems.

Your primary objective will be to maintain and optimize the reliability, performance, and efficiency of the client’s facilities while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and client engineering standards. This role requires a strong engineering background with demonstrated central plant and critical infrastructure experience, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders. A successful candidate will be an assertive engineering leader who can provide technical direction, communicate effectively, understand the complexities of a cross-functional organization, and balance business needs with sound engineering and maintenance practices.

What

your day-to-day will look like
  • Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to the engineering team to drive operational excellence in maintaining central plant, critical infrastructure, and building systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of central plant operations, including system performance, equipment reliability, capacity, redundancy, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and response to critical equipment failures.
  • Ensure central plant and critical building systems are operated and maintained in accordance with established operating parameters, manufacturer recommendations, applicable standards, and client requirements.
  • Oversee the planning, organization, and prioritization of work orders, preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, corrective maintenance, and projects to ensure timely execution while meeting quality standards.
  • Accountable for all hard services and critical infrastructure KPIs/SLAs and compliance measures.
  • Responsible for the creation, adherence, and review of work task administration such as Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and applicable work permits.
  • Provide technical leadership during equipment failures, utility interruptions, loss of redundancy, and other critical infrastructure events, including appropriate escalation and coordination of corrective actions.
  • Key stakeholder in the development, training, and implementation of all Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), incident management, and emergency preparedness programming.
