As the Data Center Mechanical Project Engineer, you will join Sabey's Data Center Design team and support the design, operation, and continuous improvement of mission-critical mechanical infrastructure. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external engineering consultants, you’ll contribute to highly reliable, efficient, and maintainable cooling systems that support critical data center operations.
This role offers broad exposure to the mechanical systems at the heart of mission-critical facilities, including chilled water systems, chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC units, piping systems, heat rejection equipment, and associated infrastructure. For a mechanical engineer with 3+ years of experience, it’s an opportunity to deepen your technical expertise while contributing across design, construction, commissioning, operations, reliability, and system optimization.
Your Contribution Will Likely Include- Supporting the design and development of mechanical systems for new and expanding data center projects, including chilled water systems, chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC units, piping systems, heat rejection equipment, and associated infrastructure.
- Collaborating with Architecture & Engineering (A&E) firms to ensure designs align with Owner Project Requirements (OPR), Sabey design standards, and technical specifications.
- Developing and maintaining mechanical engineering standards, specifications, and design guidelines.
- Participating in equipment sizing and selection, hydraulic calculations, and technical evaluations of mechanical systems.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical submittals for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Providing engineering support to operating data centers for infrastructure upgrades, optimization efforts, capacity expansions, maintenance projects, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Supporting reliability engineering efforts, including failure investigations, root cause analyses, lifecycle planning, equipment performance evaluations, and reliability improvement projects.
