Senior Project Engineer – Defense / Energetic Materials Full-Time | Minimal Texas Travel
Our client, a small engineering and technology company specializing in the development and testing of explosives, reactive materials, and ballistic systems, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer.
This is a hands-on technical project leadership role responsible for leading research and development projects through prototype development, testing, and technology transition while managing schedules, budgets, and technical execution.
Required Qualifications- BS in Engineering required

Master's preferred. - 8-10+ years of engineering experience involving high-level research, technology transition, or product development.
- Defense industry, defense contractor, military, or government laboratory background required.
- Experience with energetic materials
, including explosives, propellants, or pyrotechnics. - Demonstrated technical project/program leadership experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and complex testing/experiments.
- Familiarity with machining, fabrication, and prototype development.
- Ability to obtain an ATFE possessor license and security clearance
.
Knowledge of ballistics, munitions, and Solid Works is preferred.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Engineering and will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and grow within the organization.
Local Austin/Round Rock candidates are preferred; limited relocation assistance is available.
