Tax Accountant
Round Rock, TX | Full-Time | Exempt | Onsite
About the RoleTECO-Westinghouse Motor Company is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant with 1–2 years of experience to join our Finance/Tax team. This role is ideal for an early-career tax professional looking to grow within a global manufacturing organization. You’ll support corporate income tax compliance, tax provision (ASC 740), and international tax reporting, including exposure to operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting- Prepare and assist with federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting work papers
- Maintain tax calendars and ensure timely filings
- Prepare book-to-tax adjustments and reconcile tax-related accounts
- Support tax filings and compliance across U.S. and international jurisdictions
- Assist with current and deferred tax calculations
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes
- Contribute to foreign tax provision calculations for Canada and Mexico
- Assist with foreign income tax filings and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors for global compliance
- Support intercompany transactions and transfer pricing activities
- Prepare documentation for income tax audits and respond to requests
- Maintain organized and audit-ready tax files and schedules
- Conduct research on federal, state, and international tax issues
- Monitor changes in tax legislation impacting the business
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of tax experience (public accounting or industry)
- Exposure to corporate income tax concepts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Experience with a Big 4 or regional public accounting firm
- Exposure to multi-state or international tax (Canada/Mexico a plus)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Familiarity with tax provision software (One Source or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, basic modeling)
- Understanding of GAAP and ASC 740 fundamentals
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing CPA
- Gain hands‑on experience in U.S. and international tax compliance
- Work alongside experienced finance and tax professionals
- Exposure to cross-border operations and global tax processes
