Job Title:
Specialist, Supply Network Planner
Location:
Round Rock, TX (approximately 20 miles north of downtown Austin). This role supports complex manufacturing lines globally in the Advanced Material Deposition Group and serves as a point of contact for Business Unit leaders to assist with end-to-end supply planning.
- Be the subject matter expert for SAP processes and end-to-end supply chain functions including forecasting & demand planning, purchasing, production planning & scheduling, and distribution planning.
- Serve as the primary business unit contact to mitigate risk of excess and obsolete inventory, identifying outlets globally and collaborating with cross-stakeholder functions.
- Mitigate MRB inventory in partnership with global stakeholders in factories and cross-functionally to support the business.
- Oversee and optimize inventory levels globally; establish inputs for safety stock algorithms to set safety stock levels; ensure days-on-hand (DOH) and overall inventory are optimized and goals are met.
- Coordinate MRP (Material Requirements Planning) settings across MRP controllers to align with stocking and planning strategies.
- Establish global stocking and planning strategies by SKU including make-to-stock (MTS), assemble-to-order (ATO), and buy-to-order (BTO) to optimize inventory while delivering the required service level.
- Manage Division Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) with Production Planning & Operations to mitigate supply constraints and incorporate constraints into the Demand Plan as part of the monthly S&OP process.
- Manage global supply versus demand and allocation decisions with the Business Unit related to finished goods forecast and distribution as part of S&OP and S&OE.
- Support On-Time Shipment (OTS) performance by coordinating improvement initiatives across functions globally.
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience; degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- 1-3+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, or inventory planning & control; master schedule is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of basic project management fundamentals to drive organizational alignment (e.g., Gantt charts, project charters, and statements of work).
- Understanding of ERP systems and their integration across company functions.
- Proficient advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and the ability to turn data into information, conclusions, and targeted action.
- Ability to quickly extract and analyze data in ERP systems, assessing supply vs. demand, capacity, and inventory data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment under time constraints and to challenge if direction or supply plans aren’t sound.
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams and drive actions using Microsoft tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI).
- Sound decision-making capability and the confidence to implement decisions.
- Six-Sigma, APICS-CSCP / CPIM, or PMP project management certification a plus.
- Understanding of basic operations fundamentals to drive organizational alignment (critical path, resource modeling, theory of constraints).
- Experience in SAP ERP planning systems.
- Understanding of S&OP processes and review of Work Center, Routing, and Bill of Materials parameters that influence accurate MRP signals.
- Knowledge of Work Center: labor vs. equipment, shift schedule, resource quantity, calendar, efficiency;
Routing: control keys, run vs. set up, yield, interoperation time, dispatching;
Bill of Materials: parent/child relationships, subassemblies, lead time offsets, critical path, scrap, bulk & backflush implications.
