Job Description

The Testing Center Supervisor oversees the operations of the Texas State University (TXST) Testing Center Round Rock (TCRR), which is a unit within the Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC). Under the direction of the TEMC director, the TCRR Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and administering computer‑based and other tests with and without accommodations at the TCRR; hiring, supervising, training, and scheduling professional staff and graduate assistants;

maintaining/updating technology related to TCRR operations; developing and maintaining exam schedules, logs, and records; recommending goals to the director, implementing approved goals for the TCRR, and monitoring the TCRR budget and payments. The TCRR Supervisor also ensures that the TCRR adheres to the guidelines and best practices of testing as established by leading organizations within the field, such as the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

Job Duties
  • As the supervisor of the Testing Center Round Rock (TCRR), oversee the administration of paper‑based and computer‑based exams for TXST students, including TXST students registered with the Disability Services (DS) office and the general public.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations necessary to provide services, including scheduling, managing payments, proctoring exams, ensuring testing accommodations for examinees are met, troubleshooting technical issues related to exam administration, and monitoring TCRR service requests and communications. Assume coordinator’s duties as needed.
  • Communicate laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices related to test administration and test security to staff, students, parents, faculty, community members, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as liaison with DS regarding implementation of testing accommodations. Interact with other TXST departments, faculty, and test vendors as needed.
  • Supervise and train professional staff, graduate assistants, and student workers.
  • Coordinate scheduling with employees and ensure proper staff coverage of the TCRR.
  • Address issues and complaints submitted by examinees, faculty, and other stakeholders.
  • Create, develop, and review TCRR policies, procedures, reports, and manuals, monitor budget, recommend TCRR goals and security upgrades, and maintain various logs.
  • Research and make decisions about hardware and software needs for the TCRR. Recommend improvements and upgrades for all technology in the TCRR. Work with TEMC and TXST technical support personnel as needed for troubleshooting and research support.
  • Monitor and adhere to testing compliance, reporting requirements, and records management. This includes adherence to TXST and vendor requirements related to the administration of exams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
