Network Protocol Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols and network configurations.
• Act as a subject matter expert for industrial networking technologies, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA, LLDP, and PRP.
• Participate in reviews of protocol integration, compliance requirements, and test designs to ensure quality and alignment with industry standards.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate protocol stacks and validate performance.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design decisions and maintain competitive positioning.
• Provide impact analysis for protocol-related changes, considering effects on testing, schedules, and overall product integrity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience working with industrial network protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA.
• C++ development experience.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet-based communication and real-time networking.
• Familiarity with certification processes and compliance standards.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
