Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our team. This position will support the Round Rock location (2410 Round Rock Ave #150 Round Rock, Texas 78681).
This is a full-time Monday - Friday position with alternating shifts between 7:45am-4:15pm or 8:30am-5pm. This position has no weekends, call, or major holidays.
The LVN/LPN level (Level 1, Level 2, or Senior) is determined based on relevant candidate experience.

What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)? LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology.
What does the LVN/LPN do? Under general supervision, provides general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Promotes efficient patient flow and assists with patient care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Provides general nursing care to patients.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Observes, records, and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Administers prescribed medications as directed.
- Screens patients for appropriate information and instructs patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
- Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Performs EKG and oxymetry readings as required by physician.
- Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
- Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
- Maintains patient files, records and other information.
- Initiates IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
The ideal candidate for the LVN/LPN will have the following background and experience:
Level 1:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
- This position is entry level and requires 0-3 years experience as a practical nurse.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements):
- This position requires at least 3 years experience as a practical nurse.
Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and Level 2 requirements):
- Requires a minimum of five years experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Current CPR certification required.
