This position performs professional nursing duties as assigned to a 10 bed Children’s Therapeutic Respite Unit. This nurse must possess strong knowledge of the principals, methods, and practices of working with children with a developmental, autism, and or mental health diagnosis.
Responsibilities include admission assessments, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, providing RN delegation and training to support staff within the unit. The RN will provide physical assessments and treatment planning as needed. The nurse will communicate with all program and medical treatment team to ensure continuity of care.
This nurse must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards.
Directed/supervised by the Director of Residential Nursing for clinical matters such as, but not limited to medications, pharmacy, injections, genetic testing, phlebotomy/laboratory matters and clinical assessments. Directed/supervised by the Center Director for administrative matters such as, but not limited to requesting time off, scheduling and office flow. Personnel concerns will be addressed in coordination by both the Director of Nursing & Center Director.
Hourly Salary Range: $43.39 – $50.14
- $1.00/hour, previous experience in a similar position
- Up to $4.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS
- $.75/hour – Bilingual

Credentials CredentialsMinimum Qualifications
- RN licensure with at least 2 years’ experience as a practicing RN.
- Knowledge of mental illness.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish.
