Job Description
This Registered Nurse (RN) will perform professional nursing duties in a 10-bed, 48‑hour behavioral health care unit. Responsibilities include nursing triage and assessment upon admission, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, and providing RN delegation and training to support staff. The RN will assess and complete nursing care plans, communicate findings with the treatment team, and document services in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards.
The RN must be able to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio‑economic populations. The position requires a 12‑hour day shift with rotating weekends, with the ability to create a personalized block schedule.
The RN is directed and supervised by the Director of Nursing for clinical matters (medications, pharmacy, injections, genetic testing, phlebotomy, laboratory matters, and clinical assessments) and by the Center Director for administrative matters (time off, scheduling, office flow). Personnel concerns are addressed in coordination with both directors.

CompensationHourly Salary Range: $56.41 – $68.66 per hour
Differential Detail- Psych Certification – $1.00 per hour
- Bilingual – $0.75 per hour
- Previous crisis experience – up to $3.50 per hour
- Previous community center experience – up to $2.00 per hour
- Tenure with BTCS – up to $5.00 per hour
- Evening – $2.00 per hour
- Overnight – $4.00 per hour
- Weekends – $4.00 per hour
- Overnight Weekends – $6.00 per hour
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas with at least 2 years of recent behavioral health and/or substance use nursing experience.
- Experience in inpatient, outpatient, or residential treatment settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with approved driver’s status throughout employment.
- ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification.
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral health, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, emergency or primary care.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
