Position: Registered Nurse - After hours - PRN

Primary Responsibilities

  • Able to triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can provide an in‑person visit.
  • Responds appropriately and with urgency to crisis calls from patients and families after hours.
  • Makes the initial nursing evaluation to determine eligibility for hospice services, as part of a patient visit, within forty‑eight (48) hours of referral if assigned.
  • Competent to perform after‑hours visits, including admission visits, death visits, recertification visits, and routine visits.
  • Identifies the patient/family's physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs and reassesses them as needed, no less than every fifteen (15) days.
  • Documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care.
Required Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience.
  • Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of operation.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Minimum one year of experience.
Pay Range

$71,677 - $107,516 annual total cash target pay

$34.46 - $51.69 visit point

$41.35 - $62.03 hourly rate

Annual total cash compensation assumes full‑time employment (40 weekly hours) at full productivity and follows the above ranges.
