Job Summary
The Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Clinic ’s South Austin Medical Center treats adults with blood cancer and hematologic disorders in an outpatient setting. In partnership with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, the clinic is the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the TCT Clinic, you will be responsible for the care of blood and marrow transplant patients, and patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders, including acute leukemia, non‑Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
Responsibilities- Consider age‑related factors in the assessment, care, and treatment of oncology patients.
- Apply principles of death and dying when caring for terminally ill oncology patients.
- Provide emotional, spiritual, religious, and cultural support to patients and their significant others.
- Apply principles of oncology nursing.
Experience:
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
Licenses and
Certifications:
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider – preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification – preferred.
