Job Summary
As the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating the care. You will direct, monitor, and evaluate the care delegated to non‑licensed personnel. You will work with all team members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care, and perform a range of technical services to serve patient needs.
You will also be responsible for patient specimen testing, quality control and improvement, and equipment maintenance.
- Perform patient assessments pre, peri, and post procedure
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and revise the plan of care as necessary
- Maintain a safe, aseptic environment in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
- Administer medications and complete treatments as ordered by physicians
- Ensure that all supplies are available, operate and maintain equipment
- Ensure that the patient has an H&P documented by a physician prior to procedure
- Settle the patient after the procedure and provide the accepting RN with reports on the patient
- Coordinate the response of the interdisciplinary team for emergency situations
- Facilitate patient discharge plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
