St. David's Medical Center seeks a Director of Medical Surgical Nursing to lead our advanced Neurological unit. The Director will oversee clinical operations, nursing staff, quality outcomes, patient experience, and regulatory compliance. This role collaborates with physicians, executives, and interdisciplinary teams to drive evidence-based practice, patient safety, and throughput. The Director will mentor leaders, manage budgets, support staffing and scheduling, and champion a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care, excellence, and teamwork while advancing performance improvement and professional development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Medical Surgical Neurological unit.
  • Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience outcomes.
  • Direct daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate nurse leaders and frontline staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies.
  • Lead performance improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery.
  • Manage unit budgets and contribute to financial planning.
  • Foster a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Support continuous professional development and education for nursing staff.
