Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care team in Round Rock, Texas.
We are looking for a clinically confident, motivated, and compassionate Nurse Practitioner who enjoys building relationships with patients and working collaboratively with physicians and other members of the care team.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience and be comfortable evaluating and managing common acute and chronic medical conditions in a primary care setting. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Location:
Round Rock, Texas
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Hours:
8:00 a.m.
-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, or Four 10-hour days per week
Weekend Call: Approximately one weekend every 2-3 years
What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Have 1+ year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in primary care or a related clinical setting.
Be clinically confident and comfortable managing common acute and chronic conditions.
Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and know when to seek additional support or consultation.
Be self-motivated, dependable, and eager to continue learning.
Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and staff.
Work well as part of a collaborative, team-based care environment.

Be committed to preventive care, health promotion, and quality patient outcomes.
Previous nursing experience is a plus, particularly experience in an emergency department or intensive care unit, as it can provide a strong clinical foundation for advanced practice.

Responsibilities
The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive care to patients, including evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, and health promotion.
Responsibilities include:
Obtaining comprehensive and problem-focused medical histories and performing physical examinations.
Assessing patients' physical and mental health conditions and identifying healthcare needs.
Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic testing.
Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
Prescribing medications and recommending appropriate treatments and therapies.
Developing and implementing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Monitoring patient response to treatment and modifying treatment plans as appropriate.
Providing preventive care and counseling regarding health risks and lifestyle modifications.
Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, nutrition, and health promotion.
Maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
Collaborating with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
Initiating consultation and referral when a patient's condition exceeds the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice or expertise.
Performing procedures appropriate to the Nurse Practitioner's training, knowledge, and scope of practice.
Participating in a team-based model focused on acute and chronic illness management and population health.
