• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Ordering and inventory control, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team.
• Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Deli team members are aware of and following these procedures.
• Thrives in a fast paced environment.

• At least 18 years of age with preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service.
• Dependable, reliable, able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers, handle special orders, and answer phones.
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Strong focus on detail, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Food Safety certification, and ensure all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.
• Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Physically able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically up to 70 lbs., from 4” to 60”, for a distance up to 20 ft. without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours; stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift.
• Operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment, and maintain all equipment in safe working condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
