Part-time customer service role focused on providing attentive service, explaining and demonstrating woodworking supplies and tools, and selling products. When not assisting customers, responsibilities include maintaining the sales floor, facing, dusting, and general housekeeping. Some store management duties may be assigned by the Store Manager.

• Open and close the store as directed by the store manager. May assist with receiving, pricing, and merchandising tasks.
• Handle customer refunds and overrides, prepare documentation according to procedures, and maintain daily sales records and cash register balances.
• Greet customers promptly and acknowledge them as they enter the store.
• Assist with retail sales of company products by answering questions on product application or use and processing the sale on the POS.
• Emphasize the Total Solution approach by identifying and suggesting related products and services needed for the customer’s project.
• Assist with maintenance and merchandising to ensure neat, orderly, well-stocked, and appealing displays.
• Refer customers to alternative sources if the item is not in stock, to build goodwill for Rockler Companies, Inc.
• May assist with unloading trucks and other duties as assigned.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position and expected for scheduled shifts.

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools is required.
• Ability to understand customers’ requests and respond appropriately.
• Ability to determine when managerial input is required.
• Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Ability to stand for long periods; able to lift up to 50 lbs personally and assist in team lifting up to 400 lbs.
