This position may work non‑business hours including evenings and nights.

Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation that includes driving, criminal, and credit history.

Background check and Class “C” Texas vehicle license requirements are mandatory.

• High School graduation or equivalent training and experience.
• Ability to obtain a Texas State Class “C” driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with reduced managerial oversight, communicate effectively with campus populations, and operate a two‑wheel self‑balancing mobile patrol unit.
• Physical and mental capacity for outdoor, shift work, and varying days off.

• College coursework in criminal justice or behavioral science.
• Prior employment with public contact.

• Patrol buildings and grounds on foot or by vehicle, identifying suspicious activity, unsecured doors, fires, vandalism, and deterring criminal activity through presence.
• Make decisions and exercise discretion regarding security incidents and criminal reporting during non‑business hours.
• Provide on‑site security within the Health Science Center – Round Rock campus, remaining alert to hazards and threats in darkness.
• Respond to inquiries from visitors, students, and employees, directing them to appropriate personnel when necessary.

Must obtain a State of Texas Class “C” vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment; failure to do so may result in termination.
