Description

Under the general direction of the Aquatics Manager. the Pool Technician provides general, routine maintenance and repairs for the department's aquatic facility components and grounds. Responsible for repairing and maintaining the aquatic systems including, but not limited to, plumbing system, pumps and motors, filters, chemical feed systems, aquatic structures, interactive water features, etc.

Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples of Duties

* Monitors, diagnoses, and troubleshoots aquatic chemical systems, pumps and motors, play structures, circulation systems, as well as concrete, tile, and plaster; performs repairs and general maintenance as needed.

* Inspects, cleans, repairs, paints, and maintains tools, equipment, facilities, and pool systems.

* Provides technical guidance on supplies, parts, equipment, and services requested by contractors for major repairs.

* Maintains a schedule of routine and preventative maintenance activities.

* Performs manual labor and skilled tasks related to equipment operation, including locating and repairing water lines, installing electrical systems, and maintaining aquatic park/pool infrastructure.

* Orders repair parts, maintains an accurate parts inventory, and manages repair schedules and records for non-Fleet equipment; completes errands for chemicals and supplies as needed.

* Ensures timely completion of work orders and maintains required records and reports.

* Performs maintenance and repairs safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, adhering to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.

* Cleans work sites and inspects assigned areas to identify needed repairs or potential hazards.

* Helps train Pool Managers and seasonal maintenance team with pool operations and chemical handling and safety.

* Consults with customers as needed to address service issues or explain work performed.

Experience and Training

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Three (3) years of experience in commercial swimming pool maintenance, with expertise in pool circulation and filtration, safe chemical handling, pool automation, chemical feed pumps, and chemical testing required.

Certificates and Licenses Required

* Valid Texas Class C driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
