Summary of Responsibility

To provide transportation services for the residents, as structured by community management.

Duties

Drive the community vehicles in a safe, legal manner, obeying all traffic laws.

Check with the supervisor prior to beginning the first run for a quick briefing and update of the schedule for the day.

Upon arrival at a destination, the driver is to assist passengers into and out of the vehicle; then escort the resident(s) into the location of their appointment/destination.

Responsible for the care and maintenance of the vehicles, including re‑fueling, checking fluid levels and having the vehicles washed.

Notify supervisor or management of any operational concern.

Notify supervisor or management if there was any problem or occurrence involving a resident. Complete necessary report.

Perform transportation for errands related specifically to management needs, and as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Ability to read, write, and speak standard English; and follow written and oral instructions in standard English.
General knowledge of basic auto mechanics and how to make simple repairs, change a tire, etc.
Possess a current and valid driver's license.
Ability to relate positively and effectively with senior residents.
Ability to interact effectively and cohesively with staff members, residents, and members of the general public. Ability to work independently.
1-3 years of previous driving experience.
Current and Valid Chauffeur's License (optional for some states)
Successfully complete a C.P.R. and First Aid course, and possess a current C.P.R. & First Aid certificate
