Instrumental String and Chorus Music Teacher
Rowland Unified School District is seeking dynamic instructional leaders who exhibit the following:
- Knowledge of music theory
- Experience with general elementary Music, singing, different instruments, and methods
- Strong classroom management strategies and skills
- Strong pedagogical skills
- Breadth of experience in educational technology
- Instruction with a 21st-century perspective
Rowland Unified serves a diverse, multilingual student community. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. This is an itinerant position—school sites to be determined.
The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to effectively:
- Teach music appreciation, harmony and explorations in music
- Provide instrumental string instruction to elementary, intermediate and high school students
- Direct the Districts combined Elementary/Intermediate/High School Orchestra
- Teach an evening rehearsal once a week to the "District" beginning and advanced orchestra
- Interact positively with students of all ages, colleagues, parents, and parent booster groups
- Provide evening school, community and district performances as appropriate to the position
- Provide string technique inservice support for colleagues during District School Improvement days or staff development meetings
- Teach choral music at elementary and intermediate school levels
Qualifications:
- A valid California Credential authorizing music instruction (grade levels K-12)
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable
RUSD requires applicants to have a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Music and hold a CLAD or similar authorization for instruction to English Learners.
