Instrumental String and Chorus Music Teacher

Rowland Unified School District is seeking dynamic instructional leaders who exhibit the following:

• Knowledge of music theory
• Experience with general elementary Music, singing, different instruments, and methods
• Strong classroom management strategies and skills
• Strong pedagogical skills
• Breadth of experience in educational technology
• Instruction with a 21st-century perspective

The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to effectively:

• Teach music appreciation, harmony and explorations in music
• Provide instrumental string instruction to elementary, intermediate and high school students
• Direct the Districts combined Elementary/Intermediate/High School Orchestra
• Teach an evening rehearsal once a week to the "District" beginning and advanced orchestra
• Interact positively with students of all ages, colleagues, parents, and parent booster groups
• Provide evening school, community and district performances as appropriate to the position
• Provide string technique inservice support for colleagues during District School Improvement days or staff development meetings
• Teach choral music at elementary and intermediate school levels

Qualifications:

• A valid California Credential authorizing music instruction (grade levels K-12)
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable

RUSD requires applicants to have a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Music and hold a CLAD or similar authorization for instruction to English Learners.
