Bookkeeper

Location: 5030 Dexham Rd., Rowlett, TX 75088. This is an in-person position.

Southwest Scaffolding is a leading scaffolding supplier providing essential infrastructure solutions across the USA. We also have a commercial service company that performs repetitive property maintenance to commercial properties across the DFW area. Our scaffolding company has been in business for 15 years and our service company has been in business for 45 years. As we scale, we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our daily financial operations.

We currently utilize Sage 100, but we are preparing to migrate to a modern, state-of-the-art ERP system. We need someone who is not only a master of the ledger but also eager to play a key role in upgrading our financial technology.

• Manage the Cycle: Take full ownership of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
• Sales Tax Compliance: Handle state sales tax collection and reporting across multiple jurisdictions—a critical piece of our national sales engine. You will need to understand nexus laws for all jurisdictions in which we do business.
• Collections: Maintain healthy cash flow by professionally and persistently managing delinquent receivable collections.
• Data Integrity: Maintain and audit customer data to ensure our records are as sturdy as our scaffolding.
• Office Organization: Keep our digital and physical office records organized, accessible, and audit-ready.
• ERP Transition: Assist in the transition from Sage 100 to our new platform, helping us streamline workflows.

• Experienced: You have a solid background in bookkeeping or accounting (5+ years preferred).
• Detail-Oriented: You notice small discrepancies that most other people miss.
• Tech-Savvy: You’re proficient in Sage 100 (or similar legacy systems) but are energized by the prospect of moving to a modern cloud-based ERP.
• Communication Pro: You can navigate a "tough" collection call with professional grace and firm results.
• Reliable: You understand that accurate books are the backbone of a business and will apply a best practice approach to entries, operations, and record-keeping.
