Library Page; Part-time Shelver

Under general supervision, assists in maintaining the order and organization of materials within the library; performs related duties as required.

• Sorts and shelves library materials within collections by Dewey and alphabetical order.
• Maintains sequential shelf order to ensure proper arrangement of shelved materials.
• Assists in welcoming the public and in locating library materials for patrons.
• Refers information inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Assists in maintaining library displays and signage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance and creates and maintains professional, harmonious working relationships with others.
• Works primarily in a climate‑controlled office environment.
• Exposure to dust.
• Physical demands: ability to push a loaded book cart up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, lift and reach; may occasionally cause fatigue of eyes and fingers.
• Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Responsible for regular attendance and reporting to work on time.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Accuracy and proficiency in filing both numerically and alphabetically.
• Basic Internet skills required.
• Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective working relationships with library patrons and co‑workers.
• Ability to contribute to a cooperative team environment.
